This concluded another year of preschool. Here are some of the highlights from our concert from May 14th. Thanks for a great year and have a relaxing summer.
The last days of preschool, the children were asked what some of their favorite things to do in preschool were. We revisited those activities and the children had free choice time. Some of the activities included: helping wash all the toys, playing on the iPads, water color painting, fishing in the boat, building with magna-tiles, Barnyard Bingo, pet sorters and blowing bubbles.
To work on writing skills, the children dictated what they like to do when it rains and then wrote it. All children go through the stages of writing, starting with scribbling, moving to letter like shapes, to writing initial sounds in words to writing words. Here you can see some of the children creating a child in their rain coat, boots and umbrella after they completed their writing.
This week we learned about the sun. The children compared real and pretend pictures. They learned: The sun is a star made of fire and gases. It is 93 million miles away. The sun creates seasons as the earth rotates around it. The sun gives heat and light. Earth needs the sun for everything to live. The sun has rays. Nathanael, Keagan, Zoe, Jordon and Ryker work on thier painting of the sun.
The children have been working on books that are all about them. As the author, each child was asked questions about themselves and their parents. As the illustrator, they drew all the pictures in their books. Check your child’s back pack, they are all so entertaining..
