Reading/Language:  Today was a catch up day for all sixth graders.  They were given time to complete any and all late assignments.

MN History:  Due to extra marching band practice we did not have history class.

Reminder:

*  All of the sixth graders need a sack lunch and a drink on Friday!

Assignments for Thursday, May 21st

Reading:  The sixth graders read a nonfiction article this morning and answered comprehension questions over it.

Language & MN History:  Due to the majority of the sixth graders being gone bowling for the afternoon, we did not have either of these classes.

Reminders:  

*  Track and Field Day is tomorrow!!!  The sixth graders will be participating in the afternoon.

*  Evergreen Fun Park permission slips MUST be turned in tomorrow!  We will be going there next Tuesday, May 26th.  The sixth graders need to remember a sack lunch.

*  The last day of school is next Friday, May 29th.  All of the sixth graders will need a sack lunch on that day, too.

 

Assignments for Wednesday, May 20th

Reading:  The sixth graders completed the review questions on pages 814-817 in the textbook.

Language:  After a quick review of your vs. you’re, worksheet 43 was assigned.

MN History:  Due to art and 7th grade orientation we did not have history class today.

Reminders:

* Permission slips for the AR Reward Trip to Evergreen Fun Park MUST be signed by Friday!  They will be going on this trip next Tuesday, May 26th.

*  Tomorrow is the bowling trip for all students in School Patrol and/or Math Masters.

*  The last day of school is Friday, May 29th.  The sixth graders will need a sack lunch on that day, too.

Assignments for Tuesday, May 19th

Reading:  In small groups the sixth graders read the play “It’s a Good Life Charlie Brown”.  They do not have any assignments over this.

Language:  Due to marching band we did not have language today.

MN History:  They do not have any assignments for tonight.

Reminder:

*  The sixth graders have until 8:00 tomorrow morning to get to 100 AR points.

*  The students that were in School Patrol and/or Math Masters will go bowling on Thursday afternoon.

*  The AR Reward Trip to Evergreen Fun Park will be next Tuesday, May 26th.

 

Assignments for Monday, May 18th

Reading:  Using the vocabulary words for “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”, the sixth graders wrote sentences.

Language:  We did not have language class today since my class had 7th Grade Orientation with Mrs. Kern.

MN History:  The sixth graders do not have homework from this class.

Reminders:

*  In order to go on the AR Reward Trip, the sixth grade students must have 100 AR points by Wednesday.

*  The Math Masters and School Patrol students will go bowling at 11:30 AM on Thursday.

* Next Tuesday, May 26th is the AR Reward Trip to Evergreen Fun Park.

Reading:  The students who read both Act I and Act II of “The Phantom Tollbooth” got to enjoy the movie based on this play/novel.  They do not have any homework for tonight.

Language:  Worksheets 40 and 41 over to/two/too were assigned.

MN History:  The sixth graders do not have any new assignments.

Reminders:

*  Track and Field Day is Monday, May 18th.

*  Thursday, May 21st  all students who participated in School Patrol and Math Masters will be bowling.  They leave school at 11:40 AM.

*  The sixth graders need 100 AR points by Wednesday, May 20th in order to go on the reward trip.

Reading:  We finished reading “The Phantom Tollbooth, Act II” today.  The sixth graders took the selection test over this part of the play.

Language:  We reviewed the differences in their, there, and they’re.  Worksheets 38 & 39 were assigned.

MN History:  The sixth graders do not have any new assignments today.

Reminders:

*  Track and Field Day is Monday, May 18th.

*  The sixth graders need 100 AR points by May 20th.

*  On May 21st, the School Patrol and Math Masters students will be bowling.

Assignments for Tuesday, May 12th

Reading:  During class today we read “The Phantom Tollbooth, Act II”.

Language:  Worksheet 226 on gerund and gerund phrases was assigned to the sixth graders.  This is due tomorrow.

MN History:  We finished reading a short packet about the legislature.  A matching activity and crossword puzzle were assigned to the sixth graders.

Reminders:

* Students in Math Masters will be walking to the Hub for lunch tomorrow.

*  The students must have 100 AR points by next Wednesday, May 20th.

Assignments for Monday, May 11th

Reading:  Assigned to the sixth graders were sentences using the vocabulary words on pages 706 and 746.  These are due tomorrow.  The sixth graders were also told that they had to have their 100 AR points by May 20th in order to go on the reward trip.

Language:  Worksheet 226 on gerunds and gerund phrases was assigned to the students.

MN History:  We read together from a packet titled “Welcome to Legislature”.

Reminders:

*  Track and Field Day has been postponed until next Monday, May 18th.

*  Students in Math Masters will be going to the Hub for lunch on Wednesday.

*  On May 21st the students in School Patrol and Math Masters get to go bowling.

*  May 26th is the AR Reward Trip to Evergreen Fun Park.

Assignments for Tuesday, May 5th

Reading:  The sixth graders were gone tree planting all morning long so we did not have reading class.  However, they need to continue reading and taking AR tests.

Language:  They do not have any new assignments for today.

MN History:  Class time today was spent viewing a Google Presentation about our trip to the cities.  The sixth graders were given some background information on each of the locations.  Also, they know what is expected of them as we go to the various places.

Reminders:  

*  We will be leaving at 6:45 on Thursday morning.  The sixth graders need a lunch for the first day.  Also, they should dress in layers; you never know for sure what the weather is going to be like.

*  Track and Field Day is next Tuesday, May 12th.
