Madison, Hudson and Griffin are using auditory skills to try find the matching sound by shaking eggs.
With some of the Early Learning Scholarship money the school receives, we have purchased new equipment such as table, chairs, a book stand, new books along with new math, science and literacy manipulatives. Here you can see Keagan and Andrew building with Nochem’s. Sydney uses tweezers to feed a dog, rabbit and monkey.
The preschool classes played with shaving cream for a sensory activity this week. Afterwards they added liquid water colors and swirled the paints around to create a marbled egg along with the planet earth. We also talked about pollution and how and why we need to keep our planet clean and healthy. Here you can see Zoe, Kendra and Aiden playing in the shaving cream while Isaac and Rebecca are swirling the colors together. The final product is shown by Carter, Eva and Kadynce.
The children learned about spiders this week while talking about the itsy bitsy spider. They learned that spiders have 8 eyes and 8 legs and are not an insect. They spin webs made of silk and will use those webs to catch other insects/bugs to eat. Spiders do not hear, but feel vibrations and use their feet to smell and taste. The classes were able to watch short videos of a spider creating thier web. We made spider hats to work on cutting skills and to have fun acting out spider actiivities.
