State Trooper Robyn Birr visited the Tuesday morning class this week.  She discussed her job along will talking about and showing the tools she uses as a police officer.  All the children were able to sit in the back seet of her car.  Robyn will be visiting with the Monday morning class next week.

Locks, Keys and Letters

Locks, Keys and Letters

To work on letter identification and matching, the children got to play with locks and keys.  To get the lock to open the children had to match the upper case letter to the lower case letter on the key.  Here you can see Natalie, Lydia, Matthew and Logan manipulating the locks and keys.

The eigth grade class spent time with our Monday preschoolers. They worked together to paint flowers for their mothers and got to spend some time making connections and being role models for the young students.DSCN0441 DSCN0444

Part of the Eight Graders service project was to make conections and be positive role models with the preschoolers.  The children were able to do some painting and play outside together.  They will also be joining us on Monday morning for another visit.

Visiting Mrs. Sandy’s Kindergarten Classroom

This week we visited Mrs. Sandy’s classroom to see what it is like in the kindergarten room and to be in kindergarten. Mrs. Sandy talked about what ways kindergarten is the same as preschool and how it is different. The kindergarteners were able to read books to the preschoolers.   Braxton and Lena listen quietly to their kindergarten friends.

This week we visited Mrs. Crabb classroom to see what it is like in the kindergarten room and to be in kindergarten.  Mrs. Crabb talked about what ways kindergarten is the same as preschool and how it is different.  The kindergarteners then were able to read stories to the preschoolers.  Preston, Riley and Lydia are shown being read to by some kindergarten students.
